A Hellebore in a Shropshire Flower Garden

Shropshire Hellebore

Hellebores are my favourite flower, even though I only have a few. I live in the West Midlands in England and only half a mile from the Welsh border, so we get some weather here!

Hellebores are a lovely winter flower and keep me going till the Spring bulbs arrive.

The only annoying thing about hellebores is that they don't like being moved once planted - I learned this the hard way. They are also quite expensive here - but there is a specialist hellebore nursery just 30 miles away, so one day, when I have saved my pennies, I will go to that nursery and buy me a fancy hellebore. Yes I will!

I Love Your Shropshire Gem!

Thanks, Kenda, for sharing this beautifully close-up hellebore picture! It's a stunning variety, which makes up for its price and persnicketiness about transplantation, I suppose.

And what could be more welcome than a flower blooming in spite of winter's grip?

Again, thanks for the photo!
